Melodee McDonnell’s Birthday Bash
Well, on Monday evening, March 23rd, 2009 we celebrated Second Life singer and performer Melodee McDonnell’s birthday with a surprise bash at CTM Underwood’s New Hope Village (CTM is also a great SL performer). For the first half of the party we were entertained by HammerFla Magic and during the second half by OnlyHalfCrazy Gumbo. The musical entertainment was terriffic.
Quite a number of Melodee’s fans and friends showed up to enjoy some company, champagne, and, of course, cake. That was, anyway, until Rain Allen and DAM Schmooz decided to hijack the cake and hilarity ensued between Rain digging in the cake and DAM burying his face into it.
Melodee was completely surprised, with several ‘OMGs’ being heard around the room. Melodee is shown below next to Teddy…..

Hammer filled the room with his great voice, eerily reminiscent of a Glen Frey/Don henly mix and his song list was a mix of standards and some oldies many had not heard before. He treated Melodee and her very able assistant, Trishia O’Donnell to a cover of “Wind Beneath My Wings” leaving not a dry eye in the house. Make sure you catch Hammer sometime…truly one of the best in Second Life.

During the second half OnlyHalfCrazy brought her combination of cajun roots and popular music to the stage. OHC is always a crowd favorite, especially when accompanied by her singing hamster. You can catch OHC at a variety of SL venues, so make sure you give her a listen. That two of Second Life’s best performers would honor Melodee on her birthday is a real tribute.
Here are some othe snaps from the party:
Melodee was accompanied by her daughter, Cataleena McDonnell, who is also a singer but not yet in Second Life. Perhaps if I nag Melodee enough we’ll see a duet in the future.
So, HAPPY BIRTHDAY, Melodee!!!
Be sure to watch for Melodee McDonnell performing live in Second Life, and check out her profile for her RL CD which you can purchase. IM Trishia O’Connell or Melodee for future performances. Melodee is, in my humble opinion, the BEST performer in Second Life. Give her a listen.
Well, let me know what you think…send in your comments. Those of you who were there plase leave some comments as well.
As always, Harleydoc….
